Head-Rejection is withdrawing from the head center’s need to develop or update its frame of reference in favor of deep understanding of a narrow scope. withdrawing the head center from the world to develop Deep Understanding without attachments to contextual needs or immediate function. 

5’s discomfort with the chaotic depth and complexity of internal desires and emotional experiences compel them to use their head center to compartmentalize and deepen their understanding of the core source/nature of these aspects to gain  understanding and control over them. This can result in them feeling “not alive” or “not human” as the dynamic aspects of internal drives and experiences have to pass through conceptualization before they are allowed to be experienced -- separating the observer from its experience.

As a rejection type, 5 deepens into the head center's need for insight and knowledge by removing the  extraneous elements of processing for holistic conclusions ,pathfinding, or responsibility to norms and instead becoming experts at the most granular minutea of observation. They reject external frames and conclusions and seek to be the pillar of the head center's need for direct insight and knowledge for their own pursuit. In a strange way, this type is very iconoclastic and subjectively oriented in its deepening of insight, however values and prioritizes utmost objectivity and removal of personal biases from the insight extracted. 

Usually interested in the taboo and unmarked aspects of reality - drawn to the original experience and insight as the pillar of knowledge that continuously provides more insight, 5's are greatly competent at the specific field of interest they are attracted to more like an artistic visionary that wants to reflect the most direct articulation of the experience as removed from all social or moralistic burdening.

Unlike 6, that prioritize the function and role of knowledge in decision-making and social cohesion, 5 prioritizes the direct insight as held separate from external obligations. And unlike 7, that prioritizes the capacity of the head center to divise plans for positive outcomes, 5 is rejecting of fantasy-driven thinking and seeks to dissect rather than construct.

The Hidden Triads as they relate to #5:

Head (5, 6 , 7): Obsessed with understanding and uncovering insights to further depth in specific areas of knowledge and the human condition 

Withdrawn (9, 4, 5):  Protects their field of inquiry from other perspectives and becomes personally accountable to the minute details in the inquiry of knowledge - believing that larger systems of thought reduce the directness of insight.

Rejection (2, 5, 8):Removal of complexities of various perspectives, opinions, and conjecture to deepen into the head center's need for direct insight. Separates themselves from the need to for guidance. 

Competency (1, 3, 5): Seeks to become the sharpest at understanding on the most detailed and specific levels - with leverage on how things change and transform over time.

Autonomy-Seeking Triad (5, 6, 8): Identifies with the need to protect their clarity of mind and maintanence of resources that upkeep their sense of stability. 

#5 is obsessed with understanding the way their subject of interest moves, transforms, and decays in time to further understand its nature. Much like how a bacterium would be studied in a petri dish as it is put in different contexts to observe the varities of reactions it would have. Unlike 6w5, which would be more interested in proving/disproving a hypothesis, 5 is interested in the object itself in various circumstances, detached from the idea of finalizing judgment - continuing to "milk" the object of interest for more insight.

Head-Rejection lets go of the head center’s need for clarity on the ever-changing motions of life and instead prioritizes developing methods that deepen their understanding of their subjects of interest and reduce their need for getting personally involved and draining energy/resources. Fear of natural order and entropy forces the five into creating methods at fighting the natural motion of chaos. On a personal level, there is a deep desire to be touched by experience, coupled with fear of the chaos that comes with it.

Instead of orienting to reality through living mental clarity in relationship with changes and the dynamic motion of society, the 5 focuses attention on their specific field of interest, which has some kind of charge to it, and utilizes it to make themselves independent of anything other than themselves. All sources of information are presumed to be useless and wasteful unless privy to produce objective results. This makes 5 highly specialized in a specific frame of interest, with precise knowledge on how to maintain leverage over the changes so it continues to keep reality and its necessities predictable. They do this with increasing dissection and analysis of the minute parts of their interest until they bore through the natural occurrence of the field and tap into the elemental simplicity of it - and they continue to “milk” the observations that this scope presents to them.

In contrast to 6, which sees truth as something indisputable that is potentially discoverable, sensitive to fear of untruth, 5 understands that reality is fundamentally unpredictable, so they focus on objective knowledge as means of elemental quality. Truth with capital T is an obsession of 6, not 5.

The elemental function is obtained by removing all subjective, performative, and interpretative layers until the elemental building blocks are articulated alone, and in relation to each other.

5 is fundamentally avoidant of the motion and randomness of reality and experience. Thoughts, emotions, needs, and all other things are unpredictable and create drastic and destabilizing effects on the self. Therefore, 5 rejects the complexity of such things and reduces them to their elemental parts, like gears to a machine, to develop the true effect of the aspect and gains develops leverage over them. 

Fundamental rejection of the free-flowing nature of existing, Head-Rejection refuses the center’s need for utility and orientation by withdrawing attention to gain total understanding on a limited frame of reference.
